Privacy policy
Draft — under review
This policy is a draft. It describes how our shop and our systems work today. Anything marked [to confirm] is still being checked and may change before this policy takes effect.
Effective date: [to confirm: effective date].
Who we are
This policy covers our website, our online shop, your online account and our workshop. "We" and "us" mean the business that runs them; "you" means you, our customer or visitor.
That business is InOs, 4731 Levick Street, Philadelphia, PA 19135.
You can reach us through the contact form on this site, by phone or at the shop — the Contact page lists how. Privacy requests can also be sent to the email address on our Contact page, or by post to our shop at 4731 Levick Street, Philadelphia, PA 19135.
What we collect
Account and contact details: your name, email address, phone number, company name if you give one, and your billing and shipping addresses.
Your history with us: orders, quotes, invoices and payments (amounts, dates and how you paid), repairs (the device, its serial number, the problem you reported, its condition when it came in, and the notes and photos our technicians take), bookings, support conversations, product reviews, warranties, returns, trade-ins and your store credit balance.
Browsing in our online shop: the last 20 products you viewed and the products you chose to compare. We keep both lists on our servers under your cart identifier (see Cookies and browser storage), not under your account, and we delete a list when nothing has been added to it for 30 days.
Your choices: whether you agreed to receive marketing email, and when.
Trade-ins: when you sell or trade an item to us, we record who sold it. A cash payout also needs photo ID, and we record the type of ID, its number and its expiry date.
Signing in: your account is protected by our own sign-in service. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us.
Card payments
When you pay by card online, you type your card details into a secure payment page run by our payment processor, Authorize.net. Your full card number and security code never reach our systems, and we never store them.
If you save a card for later or for a subscription, the processor keeps it and gives us a reference we can charge, plus a short label so you can recognise the card in your account. You can remove a saved card yourself: in your online account, open Payment methods and remove it (we may ask you to sign in again first). We then ask the processor to delete the card, and we delete our reference to it.
How we use your information
To do what you asked for: take and fulfil orders and payments, repair and build your equipment, ship or hand over your items, run your bookings and answer your support requests.
To keep you informed: we email you about your orders, repairs, bookings, invoices, returns and warranties — for example that a repair is ready, a parcel has shipped, an invoice is past due or a warranty is about to end. We do not send text messages at present.
To keep the records the law requires, such as invoices and tax records, and to protect our customers and our business against fraud and misuse.
To measure our ads and show them again to people who visited our website (see Cookies and browser storage).
Marketing email
We send marketing email only if you ask for it. If you sign up on our website, we first email you a link to confirm. If you opt in from your account, your address is already verified, so no confirmation is needed.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your choice in your account at any time. Our mailing list runs on our own systems.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from the Google tags described under Cookies and browser storage, we do not share it with advertisers.
We share only what each provider needs to do its job for us: our payment processor (Authorize.net) to take payments; the carrier that delivers your order; Hostpoint, the service that delivers our email; IONOS, the provider that hosts our systems; Google, if you choose to sign in with Google; and Google Ads, through the tags on our website (see Cookies and browser storage).
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to answer a lawful request from the police.
Cookies and browser storage
Our sites use the cookies and browser storage they need to work. Your light or dark display choice is kept in a cookie for one year. An identifier for your shopping cart is kept in a cookie for one year, and also in your browser's storage.
Our online shop also sets two sign-in session cookies on every visit: one for customers and one for our staff. Our website sets them only on a few pages, such as online booking. They hold nothing about you until you sign in, and they end when you close your browser. Your online account sets its own sign-in session cookie in the same way. When you sign in, our sign-in service also sets its own session cookies.
Your saved items and PC builder drafts are kept in your own browser. The products you view and the products you compare are kept on our servers under your cart identifier, as What we collect explains.
We use Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags on our website. They set cookies that measure our ads and the calls they bring, and Google may use them to show you our ads on other sites. The tags send Google the address and title of each page you open, the address of the page you came from and your browser's details, and Google sees your IP address. If you reach our website from one of our ads, the phone number you see may be a Google forwarding number, so Google can count the call for us. You can turn off personalised ads in your Google account's ad settings, or block our website's cookies and third-party cookies in your browser.
Data on devices you bring in
When you leave a device with us, we access the files on it only as far as the repair and its testing need, and we copy your files only when the service you asked for requires it — for example a data recovery or a backup.
How long we keep it
We keep invoices, payment and tax records indefinitely. The rest of your account information stays while your account is open.
Download or delete your data
Download: in your online account, open Privacy and request an export. We prepare a file with your profile, addresses, consents, orders, invoices, payments, saved payment methods (labels only, never card numbers), subscriptions, repairs, bookings, support conversations, reviews, warranties and store credit balance, and we email you when it is ready.
Delete: on the same page you can delete your account. We replace your name, email address, phone number, company and addresses with placeholders, withdraw your marketing and other consents, remove you from our mailing list and close your sign-in. Invoices and payment records stay on file without your contact details, because the law requires us to keep them.
An account cannot be deleted while it has an unpaid invoice balance, an active subscription, an open repair or an open return. Once those are settled or closed, you can delete it.
You can also contact us to correct your details or to ask what we hold about you. We may ask you to prove who you are before we act on a request, and we answer as soon as we reasonably can.
If the law where you live gives you further privacy rights, contact us to use them.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we publish the new version on this page with its effective date. Please check this page from time to time.
